I found a monster, a black giant pike
From it's jaws my eagle saved me
Dragged the fish under the sun
Split it's belly, ripped the head off

Illustrations for the songs of Amorphis.
The band plays metal music with influences from folk music and progressive rock.
And as is known, their lyrics are based on the Kalevala and Finnish mythology. This song tells about a fight of the eagle and the giant pike of River of Death.

The project took about month and half, from May to Midsummer. There are also some hand-written text pages (passages from the lyrics).
You can see all the eleven paintings in this gallery folder.
Finally the paintings and text pages are binded in form of a book.
